Bio
Read MoreName: Troy Feener
Occupation: Scientist
Background: I currently make my home in Calgary, Alberta, Canada with my wife Desiree and my dogs Van Gogh and Ella. I'm an intrepid traveler and I have a passion for technology, beautiful things and unique experiences. The result of these three obsessions is the body of work you see here on my website.
Currently, I've photographed extensively throughout Canada as well as in Brasil, Argentina, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Mexico, Great Britain, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Burma Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Tanzania and Rwanda.Mission Statement: Photographically I'm interested in creating images that are compelling and truthful. A Biologist by training, it's my belief that the diversity of imagery streaming onto monitors around the world, while being amazing in it's scope and complexity, can lead to over-stimulation and emotional numbness. In a complex world, true beauty is often best expressed by taking things down to their lowest common denominator. Like in science...eliminating confounding factors is necessary to increase the power of the observation...the same should hold true for photography.
Gear: I shoot with a Canon 5D, 7D and an array prime and zoom lenses, from wide to telephoto. I process all my images using a Mac and either Adobe Lightroom or Photoshop
